We are a small family business, with the goal of continuing the former generation’s hard work for Finnish wood processing. Every year the forests of Finland bring up a lot of quality raw material, but unfortunately often the wood goes abroad as raw timber. To invest on the further processing of wood is a benefit for the whole country.

We would like to remain our status as a small company, which concentrates on the high quality of our products and not on the amount. As demand rises usually the competition hardens as well. At this point the products often are simplified forgetting important stages of work; all this to produce big amounts faster. However, our principle is that every rocking chair that leaves from our production is a well made, unique individual which serves its final owner for decades to come.

The quality is cultivated in every stage of the production. We pick the wood ourselves bought from the forests nearby, to ensure that the raw material used is of the best quality considering the endurance of the rocking chair. We also monitor the growth of the wood in every stage to provide the highest quality possible.

Of the dried birch wood planks we start the production of the rocking chairs. Our professional carpenters know how to handle wood and they also know its characters. Certain parts, such as handrails, rockers and the arched shoulder board demand special skills and our staff knows very well from long experience how to treat the wood accordingly.

The splicing of the rocking chair is genuine woodman-splicing, we do not use wood pins at any stage.

A product that is made from solid wood is durable and beautiful. Usually a rocking chair is a “once in a lifetime” purchase, which is bequeathed from one generation to another. Our rocking chairs are made to last from father to son and even longer.

We, the third generation entrepreneurs are honoured to continue producing the high quality furniture of Urjalan Keinukaluste, like the generations before us always have emphasized.

Every rocking chair we make is labelled with both, the production year and the trademark of Keinukaluste.

We use a self-made quality logo for our products, because it is the only mark which represents “100% Made in Finland” to us.
